Monthly Spotlight: Ukraine

Ukraine has one of the fastest growing HIV/AIDS epidemics in the world. In August 2010, reports suggest that 1.3 – 1.5 percent of the adult population of Ukraine was infected with HIV, the highest in all of Europe. Around of 80% of them are young people 15-28 years old: a full 25% of those affected are still in their teens.

MCC is supporting 5 projects in the region that are working to improve life for a number of populations that are living with or vulnerable to HIV, including orphans, prisoners, ex-prisoners, and teenagers.
